Information from a 1994 Apogee brochure:
"The newly developed Ribbon Monitor Series features 4" tweeter ribbons and 6½" dynamic woofers with high power voice coils in ported enclosures. The ribbon operates as a highly efficient monopole driver. The speakers can be conveniently placed near the rear wall. Both the Ribbon Monitor and the Ribbon LCR are shielded for video use. the series was designed so that the various models can be integrated into a complete ribbon surround system. All speakers in this series can be installed vertically or horizontally owing to the unique pivoting ribbon structure."
